Fresh off the back of the Khalid tour where she performed with him throughout the UK and Europe, songstress Liv Dawson is back with a dance banger in the shape of ‘Talk’. Quite a departure for the Method-signed singer, the track is an R&B-leaning bop which draws a line in the sand and signifies a new age for the 19-year-old talent. Despite its dissimilarity from her early ballads, including ‘Tapestry’ which now has over 6 million streams, ‘Talk’ still has all the lyrical vulnerability we’ve come to know and love in Dawson’s music. Describing the genesis of the track, she says: “I first wrote ‘Talk’ about a relationship that is basically over, though there’s a spark still burning when you are around each other. But it’s ultimately about knowing your worth as a woman and figuring out how to overcome those feelings that take time to fade.” With tracks as strong as this, we can’t wait to see what this new age of Liv Dawson holds! -HM
